School Uniform

We strongly urge parents to consider uniform when providing suitable dress for school. School uniform encourages an identity for, and a pride in a school. It also alleviates problems with pupils pressurising parents to provide expensive designer clothes to match other children’s trends.

Our School uniform is as follows:-

Girls

Grey Skirt/Pinafore /Black Trousers, Light Blue Shirt or Blouse, Blue Sweatshirt or Cardigan, White Socks, Tie

Boys

Grey/Black Trousers, Light Blue Shirt, Blue Sweatshirt, Grey/White Socks, Tie

Sweatshirts bearing the school logo may be ordered through school and an order is submitted normally twice per year. T-shirts bearing the school logo can also be ordered per school. Ties can also be bought through school too. Blue Polo Shirts can be purchased at any of the major stores.

We ask that parents use there judgement regards appropriate jewellery for school. Large necklaces, dangling earrings etc are not appropriate.

Make up is not appropriate for any pupil. This is because we have found it puts pressure on others to do the same and individuals who do not wear the appropriate make up, can feel left out. On special events like school discos we are happy for make up to be worn.

During the summer weather it is acceptable that boys wear grey shorts and girls wear blue checked dresses (available from multiple stores). Boys and girls can also wear blue polo shirts without a tie

Footwear

We ask that all children change from outdoor to indoor shoes on their entry to school and these shoes should be clearly marked with the child’s name. Since children need gym shoes for P.E. many parents will be happy enough for children to use these as their indoor shoes also. Other parents may prefer indoor shoes to be separate altogether – but I do stress the necessity for indoor footwear.

We ask that you provide plain black indoor shoes which do not have black soles since they mark floors easily and the marks are very difficult to remove. Having plain black shoes ensures parents are not being asked to provide expensive trainers for indoor shoes to keep up with other pupils fashion.

PLEASE NAME ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING AS THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME AND MOST ARE THE SAME SIZE. WHEN THEY ARE REMOVED FOR ANY REASON IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO ENSURE THEY GET THE CORRECT ITEMS BACK IT THEY ARE NOT NAMED.

P.E. KIT

Girls

Navy shorts
T-shirt or polo shirt
Gym shoes (not with black soles)

Boys

Navy shorts
T-shirt or polo shirt
Gym shoes (not with black soles)

In the interest of safety, children wearing ear-rings or other pieces of jewellery will be asked to remove them for gym. On gym days children should not wear jewellery. If earrings cannot be removed parents should tape over them or provide their child with tape so that they themselves can cover them.

Tote Bags

In an effort to encourage tidy cloakroom habits, children need to have a tote bag to put their shoes in. These may be purchased from the school office or from many sports shops.
